Terms of service.
The short version
The full terms are below. This summary is here for convenience and does not replace them.
- If we can no longer host your site, you receive control of your website's HTML files and a refund of the last three months of hosting fees. It is not a refund of everything you have paid.
- Major upgrades are not included in the original build price. They are quoted separately once we understand the scope.
- Small content edits are part of the monthly care plan. Rebuilds, new systems and new sections are not.
Section 01What is included
These terms are between you (the client) and [registered business name], trading as Pageory, referred to below as "we" or "us". They apply from the moment you accept a quote or make a first payment.
Your website fee covers the design and build of the website as described in the quote you accepted: the agreed pages, the agreed features, and the revisions we set out during the project. Anything not named in that quote is not part of the fee.
We will confirm the scope in writing before any work begins, so both sides are working from the same list.
Section 02Pricing and payment
Website packages start at $200. The final price depends on the number of pages, the features required, and how much content already exists. The figure in your written quote is the figure you pay for the work described in it.
Unless your quote says otherwise, a [50%] deposit is payable before work starts and the balance is payable before the website goes live. The estimator on our website is indicative only and is not a quote.
Section 03Hosting and ongoing services
Hosting and ongoing website services start at approximately $40 per month and are billed monthly in advance. The plan you choose is set out in your quote.
A hosting and care plan covers keeping the website online and current — hosting, SSL, backups, software and security updates, uptime monitoring, and small content edits such as changing text, swapping an image, or updating opening hours and prices.
It does not cover new functionality, new sections, or redesigns. Those are treated as upgrades under section 5.
Section 04If we can no longer provide hosting
There may come a point where we are no longer able to provide hosting services for your website. If that happens, we will tell you in writing and give you at least [30 days'] notice before the service ends.
You will be given control of your website's HTML file, together with the stylesheets, scripts and image files it needs to run, so that the website can be moved to a host of your choosing.
You will also be refunded the hosting fees billed over the three months immediately before the service ends.
What the refund does not cover
This is a refund of the last three months of hosting fees only. It is not a total refund. The following are not refunded:
- The original website design and build fee.
- Hosting fees billed more than three months before the service ends.
- Any upgrades, add-ons or additional work already carried out and paid for.
When this clause does not apply
The three-month refund applies where we end the hosting service. It does not apply where you cancel your own plan, where you move to another host by choice, or where hosting stops because fees have gone unpaid. Cancellation by you is covered in section 8.
We will help point your domain at its new home and answer reasonable questions during the handover. We cannot guarantee that a third-party host will run the site identically, and we are not responsible for the site once it is under someone else's control.
Section 05Upgrades and major changes
Any major upgrade to the website is not included in the main cost. The build fee pays for the website that was scoped and agreed at the start of the project, and nothing beyond it.
Where you want a major upgrade, a representative will discuss it with you and provide a separate written quote once the scope of the upgrade has been ascertained. Work on the upgrade begins after that quote has been accepted in writing.
What counts as a major upgrade
- New pages or sections beyond the number agreed in your original quote.
- New functionality — an online store, a booking or reservation system, memberships, payments, a customer portal.
- Integrations with third-party systems, or moving the website onto a different platform.
- A redesign, a rebrand, or a substantial change to the layout or structure of the site.
- An additional language version of the website.
What is not a major upgrade
Routine content maintenance is included in your monthly care plan and is not quoted separately: editing existing text, replacing images, updating prices, hours or contact details, and adding a small number of items to a list or gallery that already exists.
If it is not obvious which side of the line a request falls on, ask us before you assume. We will tell you plainly, and we will not begin chargeable work without a written quote you have accepted.
Section 06What we need from you
To build and launch on schedule we need text, images, logos and any account access agreed in the quote, plus timely responses at the review stages. Projects held up waiting on content may be rescheduled around other work.
You confirm that any material you give us is yours to use, or that you hold the necessary licence for it. We are not responsible for third-party material supplied by you.
Section 07Ownership of your website
Once the final invoice is paid, the finished website design and its content are yours. Your domain name is registered in your name and remains yours throughout.
We keep the right to show the finished website as an example of our work. Tell us if you would prefer we did not, and we will not.
Section 08Cancelling
You can cancel a hosting and care plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and fees already billed are not refunded. On request we will give you your website files so you can take the site elsewhere.
If you cancel a build partway through, the deposit covers the work completed to that point and is not refunded. Anything already designed and paid for is yours.
Section 09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the services change. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and the terms in force when you accepted your quote are the ones that apply to that project.
These terms are governed by the laws of [country / jurisdiction].
Section 10Privacy
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers. There is no tracking to opt out of, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.
The enquiry form does not send anything to us on its own. It opens your own email application with the details filled in, and nothing leaves your device until you press send. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can answer it and, if you become a client, so we have a record of what was agreed. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list.
Ask us at any time what we hold about you and we will tell you, and ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax or legal reasons.
Websites we build and host for clients may use hosting logs kept by our hosting provider for security and uptime purposes. If your own site collects personal data — bookings, accounts, payments — we will tell you what that means for you before it goes live.
Section 11Contact
Questions about anything on this page — including what would count as an upgrade on your particular site — are welcome before you commit to anything.
